paper (known as rag paper) and has a nice texture.

Send me several photographs by post. If the portrait is for head and shoulders, photographs from several positions helps, as also a full length one, which helps with judging posture and character. Also a few written details of the person, their hobbies and profession for instance, and their personality, aids in getting the portrait to your liking.
In addition, give me some idea of the type of portrait you are expecting, formal or relaxed. I add a background that suits the painting, usually a studio type abstract one.
Don't forget to include your name and address, and cheque with your order and photos.
